REGULAR MEETING OF THE LAFAYETTE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD 4:00 pm 10 January 2022 The City of Lafayette Parks and Recreation Board met in regular meeting at 4:00pm, January 10, 2022. The meeting was held at Rush Pavilion in Columbian Park. The meeting was called to order by Park Board President, Maurie Denney. Board members present were Pat Corey, Maurie Denney and Matt Metzger. Parks Director of Operations Jon Miner, Marketing Manager Samantha Haville, Ass’t Zoo Director Caitlin Laffery, McAllister Recreation Center Ass’t Manager Emily Butler, Maintenance Manager Mike Perry, Events Coordinator Bridgett Haro and Recording Secretary Jenny Spencer were also present. Election of Officers • Upon motion by Mr. Metzger, seconded by Mr. Denney, and unanimously carried, Pat Corey was approved to serve first year as Park Board President. • Upon motion by Mr. Denney, seconded by Ms. Corey, and unanimously carried, Matt Metzger was approved to serve first year as Park Board Vice President. • Upon motion by Mr. Metzger, seconded by Mr. Denney, and unanimously carried, Dave Mecklenburg was approved to serve first year as Park Board Secretary. • Upon motion by Mr. Denney, seconded by Mr. Metzger, and unanimously carried, Jenny Spencer was approved as Recording Secretary. Upon motion by Mr. Metzger, seconded by Mr. Denney, and unanimously carried, minutes of the December 13, 2021 Parks Board meeting were approved. Upon motion of Mr. Denney seconded by Mr. Metzger, and unanimously carried, General Fund Claims in the amount of $36,855.61, Non-Reverting Fund Claims in the amount of $1,799.72 and Bond Fund Claims of $461,584.38 for a total of $500,219.71 were approved. Superintendent’s Report • Marketing Manager Samantha Haville began with a brief update of news media surrounding penguins who are in stable condition. The final draft of the Fun Guide is in the approval phase. Art in the Park dates have been set for June 7, July 12 and August 12. Two Marketing interns starting this week. Social Media update; Facebook is over 12,400 with an increase of over 420 the past month. All other platforms have increased as well. • Director of Operations Miner explained kickoff for CivicRec (replacement for TPAR) starts this week. Aviators schedule was released last week. Upon motion by Mr. Denney, seconded by Mr. Metzger, and unanimously carried, 2022 Fees and Charges were approved.
