Director of Public Works; Mayor Roswarski Guests: Alex Gonzalez, Kettelhut Construction, Inc.; Tim Balensiefer, TBIRD Design Services; Margaret Troup, Journal & Courier Welcome and Call to Order Jos Holman welcomed everyone to the Redevelopment Commission meeting, noted that a quorum was present and opened the meeting of the Lafayette Redevelopment Commission at 11:00am. Minutes Shelly Henriott moved to approve the minutes of the June 24, 2021 meeting. T.J. Thieme seconded and the motion passed unanimously. New Business Kettelhut Inc.: Public Safety Building & Parking Garage Change Order #l-Bid Event #2 Core and Shell -Presented by Alex Gonzalez of Kettelhut, Inc., this is a Change Order to the CMc at risk contract we have with Kettelhut Inc. for construction of the Public Safety Building and Parking Garage. This represents Bid Package #2 of our three packages and Guaranteed Maximum Prices {GMP}. This change order/bid event agreement is for the core and shell work such as masonry, metal louvers, covers, roofing, waterproofing of the amenity deck, framing, exterior curtain wall and doors and totals $5,939,507. Bid Package #1 was approved for $14,250,933. The project total to date is $20,190,440. One more final bid package is expected to be released for bid later in August. T.J. Thieme moved to approve. Jim Terry seconded and the motion passed unanimously. TBIRD Design Services Corporation: Engineer's Services-S 4th Street Boundary and Topography Survey - The agreement is for TBIRD Design Services to evaluate the former rail corridor land between 3rd and 5th Streets. With the overall development climate strong, the City would like to consider uses for this area, but needs good baseline information. Once the survey is complete, we can better evaluate potential uses for the area and decide on how to proceed. This contract, presented by Tim Balensiefer, will be in the amount of $27,400 plus up to $600 in reimbursable expenses. Jim Terry moved to approve. Shelly Henriott seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Director's Report Dennis stated that work on the Public Safety Building and Garage is moving along well. We are currently looking over details of exterior signage, the furniture package and other interior/exterior details. Alex Gonzalez of Kettelhut Construction, Inc. gave more specific details on the construction aspect ofthe project. Excavation is underway to accommodate the lower level of the parking garage and overhead utilities in the alley are being moved underground. The steel is expected to arrive in September. Bids for Package #3 are expected at the end of August and will be presented for approval in September. Claims Jim Terry moved to approve the July 2021 claims in the amount of Four Million, Three Hundred Three Thousand, Five Hundred Thirty-Eight Dollars and Fifteen Cents ($4,303,538.15). Shelly Henriott seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Public Comment There were no comments received from the public. Adjournment Shelly Henriott moved to adjourn the meeting. T.J. Thieme seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting of the Lafayette Redevelopment Commission was adjourned at l1:13am.
