BUSINESS
Lakefront Park Update and Design Discussion with Consultant
Amber, Consultant Project Manager from Facet for the Lakefront Project, went over an
update/overview of schedule, permits submitted on local and federal, hearing land use procedure
and background for the Board as there are a few new members. Amber then went through
interpretation concepts. Interpretation concepts are to provoke people to do more research, not
read and be done with the idea.
Park Board will host a separate meeting to start on the history/sign research project, that will keep
the naming process in mind.
Blue Heron Park Project Update
Turnout is going well, even pushed through working in the snow last work party. Continuing clean-
up for planting later this year. Work parties will continue the 2nd Saturday of each month, 9AM to
Noon.
eNews Article Submission for May
Linda is working with Climate Hub wall at third place commons. Good place to advertise Park
Board articles and such.
Cory will work on a Lakefront Park blurb for future climate hub feature.
2026 Community Events
Upcoming events, the 5k Pack the Park will take place May 9th starting at Animal Acres, this is its
10th year. The Green Fair will be April 4th at the Commons.
Board will chat more on 2026 events at May meeting.
Votes for Chair and Vice-Chair (or Co-Chair)
PRAB agreed to stay with the Chair and Vice Chair organization.
All voted in favor to approve Tyler as the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Chair and Amy
as the Vice-chair.
Other
Amy noted the leaves on the new art installation seem to be pointy, Cory will have the Public
Works crew take a look at it.
Amy wondered what the status of the pickleball items are. Cory noted the City will look at
windscreens and benches to be installed at Horizon View, and coordinate with the LFP
elementary school for additional benches. Will look at the lighting requests but this seems to be
a much larger capital project outside of this council allocation scope.
