City of Lake Forest Park Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Regular Meeting Summary February 24, 2026 CALL TO ORDER: 7:00 P.M. PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Tyler Dittman, Linda Holman, Maurice Jones Jr, Steve Feth, Mike Vetersneck STAFF AND OTHERS PRESENT: Cory Mattson – Community Programs Planner Matt Mulinberg – Councilmember MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC PRESENT: Joshua Anderson – LFP Business Owner WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS Round Table of Introductions ADOPTION OF AGENDA Linda motioned to approve the agenda, Steve seconded the motion to approve, the agenda was approved unanimously. REVIEW/APPROVE MEETING MINUTES Linda motioned to approve the January Meeting Minutes, Steve seconded the motion to approve, the minutes were approved unanimously. BUSINESS  Park Board Meeting Time and Day Park Board agreed to try out meeting the first Thursday of the month at 4:00PM. Next PRAB meeting will take place April 2, 2026, 4:00PM.  Blue Heron Park Project Update Group is continuing to do cleanup of the park, focusing on two planting bed areas and invasive removal in general. Linda is looking to meet with a restoration specialist to chat more. The Blue Heron Project received a grant with King County Parks of $10,000 to get started. Interact and climate action kids are helping out on the project. Work Parties are taking place the second Saturday 9:00AM to Noon.   Lakefront Park Project Updates and History Sign Project Board discussed the project and agreed on the following possible topics to look at for including pictures and history signage into the Park Project. o Water Recreation o Railroad/Burke Gilman Trail o The Gates Family (with highlighting Pearl) o History of people who stayed on site in cabins o Industry of the Lake Washington – Steamboats/Ferry system o Lowering the Lake – Ballard Locks o Morris Family – Acknowledge of the Preserve Property o Indigenous Community o Building History o Founder Families of LFP? – Original Houses  Other Tyler let the Board know the presentation to Council on what the Board completed in 2025 and plans for the upcoming 2026 year went well and were appreciative of the Boards contributions. Board discussed that each month someone bring a Park news article monthly for the board to review to get into City social media and eNews, will start in April and assign each meeting for the following month. Cory will look back into the Yoga in the Park requirements and report back to get a series going this year. Board will also discuss 2026 Community Events Calendar next meeting for Board to discuss as a group. PUBLIC COMMENTS None ADJOURN: 8:05 PM
