APPROVED MINUTES Vlllage of Lake Zurich Executive Session Monday, March 6th, 2023 Meeting called to order by Mayor Tom Poynton at 7:24 pm. 1. Roll Call: Mayor Thomas Poynton, Trustee Dan Bobrowski, Trustee Janice Gannon, Trustee Marc Spacone, Trustee Greg Weider. Trustee Euker and Trustee Sprawka are both absent this evening. Also present: Village Manager Ray Keller, HR Dir. Doug Gibson, Attn. Scott Uhler, Deputy Village Clerk Kyle Kordell. 2. Approval of Executive Session Minutes from 11-7-2022! 5ILCS 120/2 (C) (21) Motion was made by Trustee Spacone, seconded by Trustee Weider to approve the executive session minutes of 11/7/2022 ES. AYES: 4, NAYSI 0, ABSTAIN: 0, ABSENT: 2 VOICE VOTE MOTION CARRIED. 3. Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specinc employees 5ILCS 120/2 (C) (1) AND pending, probable, or imminent litigation 5ILCS 120/2 (C) (1 1) AND establishment of reserves or settlement of claim as provided in the Local Governmental and Governmental Employees Tort Immunity Act 5ILCS 120/2 (C) (12) HR Director Gibson provided an overview of village-wide general liability and workers compensation claims received in 2022. He explained the various categories of claims, light duty work assignments, and employee lost time. He also reviewed older claims that are still open and active from 2016 — 2021. The Board asked questions about strategies for appealing workers comp cases and inquired to some specihcs about claims that are still open and active. 4.
