APPROVED VILLAGE OF LAKE ZURICH TREE COMMISSION 505 Telser Road, Lake Zurich November 2, 2010 7:00 PM A. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Garrison at 7 PM B. ROLL CALL-Present were Chairman Garrison, Members Tony Harper, Toni Rey, Jim Mihelic and Village Liaison Shawn Walkington. Absent Commissioner Kozub C. PUBLIC COMMENT- None D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Commissioner Rey motioned to accept the October 5, 2010 meeting minutes. Commission Harper seconded. Voice vote, AYES have it. MOTION CARRIED. E. OLD BUSINESS – None F. EMERALD ASH BORER PLAN- Chairmen Garrison passed out sample plans to everyone. Members are going to look over plans to discuss at next meeting. Members discussed options on combating EAB. G. ARBOR DAY- Commissioner Mihelic outline of activities for arbor day. Theme for Arbor day will be Our trees our treasures. Commissioner Harper left a message with school district to see if they would like to participate, but has not been called back. Members discussed activities, volunteers, planting and cost. Commissioner Rey drafted a letter to send out looking for volunteers. H. TREE PROTECTION- Chairmen Garrison would like to see better enforcement of tree protection ordinance pertaining to new developments/ construction. Commission has asked Building and Zoning Director Dan Peterson to attend our meeting to discuss how we can do this. I. NEW BUSINESS – Chairmen Garrison received a memo from Susan Ragsdale on next year’s meeting dates. Chairmen Garrison will contact Susan with our meeting dates. J. ADJOURNMENT – MOTION was made by Commissioner Harper, seconded by Commissioner Rey to adjourn the meeting. Voice vote, AYES have it.
