APPROVED VILLAGE OF LAKE ZURICH TREE COMMISSION 505 Telser Road, Lake Zurich May 3, 2011 7:00 PM A. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Garrison at 7 PM B. ROLL CALL-Present were Chairman Garrison, Mary Kozub, Jim Mihelic, Toni Rey and Village Liaison Shawn Walkington. Absent Tony Harper C. PUBLIC COMMENT- Alan Borg of 160 Harbor Dr was interested in the Tree Commission vacancy and was attending meeting to see what is involved. D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES, APRIL 5, 2011– Commissioner Rey motioned to accept the April 5, 2011 meeting minutes. Commissioner Mihelic seconded. Voice vote, AYES have it. MOTION CARRIED. E. APPRVAL OF MINUTES APRIL 21, 2011 – Commissioner Mihelic motioned to accept the April 21, 2011 Minutes. Commissioner Rey seconded. Voice vote AYES have it. MOTION CARRIED F. OLD BUSINESS- Chairperson Garrison asked if the budget had been passed. Liaison Walkington said the budget was approved and he was going to check to see if any cuts had been made. G. ARBOR DAY- Commission discussed Arbor Day celebration. Some things they would like to see for next year were follow up on volunteers, keep activities centralized, make sure all parks have supplies needed (garbage bags), participation from school district, check date so it doesn’t conflict with other activities. H. EMERALD ASH BORER – Liaison Walkington spoke with Public Works Director Heyden. Director Heyden is going to put the EAB management plan on the Agenda for approval by the Village of Lake Zurich Board on May 16th. I. NEW BUSINESS- None J. ADJOURNMENT – MOTION was made by Commissioner Kozub, seconded by Commissioner Rey to adjourn the meeting. Voice votes, AYES have it.
