O. Tree Commission Agendas/

*AMENDED VILLAGE OF LAKE ZURICH TREE COMMISSION 505 Telser Road, Lake Zurich March 12, 2012 6:30 PM A. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Liaison Walkington at 6:30 PM B. ROLL CALL-Present were Jim Mihelic, Judi Thode, Mary Kozub, *Toni Rey and Village Liaison Shawn Walkington. Absent Chairman Garrison. C. PUBLIC COMMENT- None D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Commissioner Kozub motioned to accept the January 10, 2012 meeting minutes. Commissioner Thode seconded. Voice vote, AYES have it. MOTION CARRIED. E. OLD BUSINESS- Commissioner Kozub asked if anything happened with the Maple tree by Manuel’s House. No one had heard anything about it yet. Commissioner Rey asked about the rain barrels. Commissioner Mihelic explained what would be involved. F. WEB PAGE- Steve Macygin updated the Forestry page on Village of Lake Zurich website. Commission liked how the new site looked. G. ARBOR DAY –Commissioner Mihelic has talked to some vendors. Cedar Hill Nursery, McGinty, Natural Environments and Rain Barrel Committee will be attending. Commissioner Thode is going to ask the Garden Club if they would like to attend. Commissioner Milehic made up a flyer to put at local businesses. The school planting will be at May Whitney. We are still waiting on a call from Michelle on all the information. H. TREE PRESERVATION- Commissioner Thode composed a letter for Village Board. Letter will be reviewed at next meeting. Commission discussed what they would like to do going forward. I. EMERALD ASH BORER- Liaison Walkington informed Commission that Village received a grant from Mayors Caucus for replanting trees removed with EAB. J. NEW BUSINESS- Commission discussed Online training for Open Meetings Act. K. ADJOURNMENT – MOTION was made by Commissioner Kozub, seconded by *Commissioner Rey to adjourn the meeting.
