APPROVED VILLAGE OF LAKE ZURICH TREE COMMISSION May 2, 2023 6:30 PM CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by CMrman Ganison at 6:30 PM ROLL CALL-Present were Kurt Hansen, Kevin Scheiwiller, Tony Harper, Mary Kozub, Scott Garrison and Village Liaison Shawn Walkington. PUBLIC COMMENT- None APPROVAL OF MINUTES — Motion made to accept minutes from March 7m by Commissioner Hansen, second by Commissioner Harper. All were in favor COMMISSIONERS REPORTS-Commissioner Hansen talked about seminar he did with Ancient Oaks at Ela library. They discussed tree canopy of Lake Zurich. Liaison Walkington asked Commission if someone would like to provide a quote about the tree grant the Village received for planting trees. Chairman Garrison wil put together a quote and email to Liaison Walkington Chairman Garrison called Community Development Director Sarosh Saher about tree planting at Sarah Adams. He is waiting for a call back. COMMISSIONER REPLACEMENT- Commission discussed 3 candidates for Commission member opening. Chairman Garrison and Liaison Walkington will be interviewing candidates in the upcoming weeks. ARBOR DAY- Commission discussed Arbor day activities. There was not a big turnout and only gave out a few seedlings. It was suggested not to buy as many next year. Talked about the possibility ofdoing it at a school next year. ADJOURNMENT ~ Motion was made by Commissioner Harper, seconded by Commissioner Scheiwiller adjourn the meeting. Voice votes, AYES have it. MOTION CARRIED Meeting was adjourned at 7: l 5 PM.
