APPROVED VILLAGE OF LAKE ZURICH TREE COMMISSION July 1], 2023 6:30 PM CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman Garrison at 6:30 PM ROLL CALL-Present were Matt Spiekhout, Kevin Scheiwiller, Tony Harper, Scott Garrison and Village Liaison Shawn Walkington. Absent Mary Kozub PUBLIC COMMENT- None APPROVAL OF MINUTES — Motion made to accept minutes from June 6th by Commissioner Schweiller, second by Commissioner Harper. All were in favor COMMISSIONERS REPORTS-Commissioner Harper suggested inviting other committee members to our meetings. Mayor Poynton said he would send out an invite. Commissioner Schweiller asked about tree planting at Sarah Adams. Chainnan Garrison said that they planted 10 more trees there and have water bags on all trees. Chairman Garrison talked about a grant available thru Nicor. Chairman Garrison talked about trimming oftrees around power lines. Commission would like to see something in the ordinance about proper times for power line trimming. Commissioner Harper asked what is the appropriate way for Commissioner Spiekhout to communicate with other members without violating any open meetings act. OAK TREES PAULUS PARK- Liaison Walkington discussed maintenance of trees at Paulus Park. The trees near the Farmers market have been mulched and they will be fertilized in the fall. Liaison Walkington will have bids for more treatments by the next meeting. ADJOURNMENT — Motion was made by Commissioner Schweiller, seconded by Commissioner Harper adjoum the meeting.
