I have worked toward the betterment of the schools in our local district, and to protect the local environment through participation in community cleanup and beautification projects. I have a history of working with diverse groups of people who don’t always agree on process and procedure, and I have a great respect for Council business. I grew up in a military family and we were stationed to McChord AFB in 1995. From then until now I have either attended school or lived in Lakewood apart from the time that I served in the Army. I believe I have the experience needed to successfully serve in such a critical and complex role from my nearly two decades of experience at Boeing where I have directed the development and implementation strategies for multiple large ($100M+), engineering, IT, manufacturing and operations projects from initiation through delivery and customer support. For the last 10 years, I have also served as an engagement and employee retention leader who has implemented employee development and mentoring systems across multiple business units. Along the way, I have trained and served as an Organizational Change Management champion, creating the tiered structures to enable stakeholder success through communication, engagement, and accountability. Over the past 6 years, I have also served as the CFO and Treasurer for a Tacoma non-profit where I’ve managed the entirety of the financial strategy and the responsibility for bookkeeping and government compliance. Across these roles, I’ve been fortunate to lead a diverse workforce of business analysts, machinists, engineers, scientists, managers, IT, finance, and other functions. I truly believe that top performing teams come from the most diverse perspectives. A few high points of my years at Boeing include: • Managing the “Digital Transformation Strategic Roadmap” of multiple (Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain) systems to a new, integrated common architecture. Serving as the Systems Integration Program Manager with oversight of the implementation across 20+ domestic and international sites. • Leading the R&D team for the Boeing 777X Wing, where I managed the cost, schedule, and technology KPIs for over 140 people – with a $100M annual budget, reporting status to a VP-level audience on a weekly basis. • Managing the entire life cycle of the Boeing 787 Composite Floor Beams, from initial R&D through hiring and managing the operations (factory) personnel, to managing the engineering team responsible to offload the work to international and domestic suppliers. • Leading the Puyallup Composites Manufacturing Center 777X Integration Team to successfully launch a new airplane through an existing, legacy production line. Building the team, shifting the culture, developing the plan, and executing on our commitments to safely deliver on schedule and on budget. In addition to my experience, I have an Associate’s degree from Pierce College, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, and an MBA from Seattle University. As a proud Lakewood resident for my entire life, a Clover Park HS Graduate, and an Eagle Scout I have seen our community grow through significant challenges.
