September 9, 2011- October 13, 201 1
Murrieta stated that she had not received any complaints on the local food establishments.
Allais informed the Board that a local store was attaching security tags to candy bars. A
customer informed her that the tags were being inserted into the packaging in a way that the
tags were touching the candy. Once this problem was brought to the store owner's attention,
the problem was corrected.
Murrieta had a follow up inspection at Ramada Inn (pool and kitchen). A control plan was
implemented. The owner of the establishment hired a kitchen manager to oversee the
continental breakfast in the morning and the bar in the evening.
The desk clerk at Americlnn is running the front counter, the breakfast bar as well as
checking pool chemicals. Murrieta has been in contact with the Americlnn's manager and
informed him of the low inspection ratings. A follow up inspection is planned for next week.
5-B. Body Art Rules and Regulations
Murrieta noted that all changes suggested by the board were made, and asked the Members
to review them.
Kempert suggested that the City Attorney, Dave Clark review the Body Art Rules and
Regulations and provide comments and changes.
Murrieta suggested that the Body Art business owners/artists review the Rules and
Regulations and provide written comments or be present at the January 2012 Board of
Health meeting to share their comments or concerns.
The Board Members agreed and welcome the public input of the local business owners.
Staff will send a cover letter along with a copy of the Draft-Body Art Rules and Regulation to
each local Body Art Establishment by October 31, 2011. Requesting they review the Rules
and Regulation and provide written comments Prior to Januaiy 11, 2012 or attend the
January 1 9'h Board meeting to share their comments.
When the Rules and Regulations are complete, they will be presented to the City council at a
work session.
5-C. FDA Standards - Conference Update
September 26th-30'h, Murrieta attended a FDA conference in Dallas, Texas and completed
FDA Standard #l-Self Assessment. The conference was a good opportunity for networking
with other Wyoming jurisdictions as well as other professionals in similar positions from other
states. Murrieta felt the conference provided valuable information.
The Board requested an outline of Murrieta's Self-Assessment.
The State is completing their training manual soon. Once it is available, Murrieta will review
and edit it to suit Laramie, than turn in Laramie's Training Manual into FDA.
