Novick requested that the minutes be amended to reflect that the Body Art Policy and Procedures will be reviewed by the Board prior to approval. DISCUSSION No discussion 4. NEW BUSINESS No items 5. OLD BUSINESS 5-A. Review FDA Standards - Mario Seminara of the FDA Standards Volunteer Program Introductions were made. Seminara spent the afternoon working with Murrieta on Standard #1 -Self Assessment. Murrieta plans to have this Standard completed by December 31, 2011. In late September, Murrieta will attend an FDA Standards Conference in Dallas, Texas. The FDA will cover 100% of Murrieta's travel expenses to attend the conference. At the conference there will be a workshop to review Standards 1 - 7. Another workshop will be to review in detail Standard #2 -Trained Regulatory Staff and begin working on it. The FDA has offered a $2,500 incentive for agencies to work on and complete Standard #2. The City of Laramie has applied for the funding and plans to complete the necessary conditions in order to receive the incentive funds. Seminara explained the conditions that need to be met in order to receive the funds: * Begin work on Standard #2 * Self assess * Write action plan and timeline - CompletebyJuly1,2012 * Submit purchase order to FDA Funds may be used by agency on anything to advance the Standards. Some suggestions were made but not limited to: training, travel for training, a new computer, etc. The FDA encourages inspectors to calibrate with other jurisdictions that are enrolled in the FDA Standards to work together on Standards and verify with each other that the Standard as been met. All completed Standards should be filed with the FDA. Seminara informed the Board of several new developments. @ FDA has implemented Manufacturing Standards that are mandatory throughout the states * Congress just passed a Food Safety Act * Wyoming has 6 jurisdictions working on the FDA Standards * Seminara plans to hold a local workshop in 2012, to assist the Wyoming jurisdictions on completing their next Standard Seminara will contact the Board in March 2012 to see if they are ready to work on Standard #3- Inspection Program Based on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) Principles. 6.
