City Council Study Session Monday, September 25, 2023, 6:00 PM 27400 Southfield Road, Lathrup Village, Michigan 48076 1. Call to Order by Mayor Garrett at 6:00 pm 2. Discussion Items A. MML Liability & Property Pool Renewal Proposal This is the actual liability and property insurance renewal for all City insurance policies. The premium is $92,998, a 2% increase from last year. There will also be a $7,920 dividend returned after the premium renewal is paid. B. Agreement for Election Services This is the agreement between the Oakland County Election Division, the City of Southfield, and Lathrup Village to partner for the 9-day early vote. If the Council does not approve this agreement tonight, Lathrup Village will be responsible for running the 9-day early vote, which means all new equipment and staffing at a significant cost to the city. C. Leaf Storage Agreement with the City of Ferndale The annual agreement with the City of Ferndale to store leaves in the southwest storage yard from October 9, 2023, to December 31, 2023. The cost is unchanged at $1,545. D. Public Comments Oakland County Commissioner Yolanda Smith-Charles informed the Council that there are funds available from the Special Projects Fund that each Commissioner can access for programs or projects that are one-time use. The Commissioner would happily assist the city in securing the funds needed. 3. Mayor and Council Comments Councilmember Miller questioned if liability insurance has ever been bid out.
