COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG
January 8, 2015
The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present:
Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member Williams, Council Member Moore and
Council Member Sevier.
With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion to approve the minutes of the December 18, 2014 Council Meeting was made by Council
Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
City Administrator, Chris Shaffer, informed the Council bids were opened for fuel and that is under
consideration and demolition upstairs for the James D. Vaughan Museum has begun. City offices will
be closed on January 19, 2015 for Martin Luther King, Jr. day.
Assistant Police Chief Darren Goolsby reported to the Council concerning the house fire on Brink
Street with a fatality and are asking the public for assistance in the investigation. There has been an
arrest on the latest burglary at Holland’s Drug.
Fire Chief Jay Moore asked the press to emphasize the importance of keeping heaters away from home
furnishings to prevent fires and to check on family members during this extremely cold weather.
ORDINANCE NO. 1150
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1144 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS
OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2014-2015 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE.
Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council
Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously.
ORDINANCE NO. 1151 was removed from the agenda for further investigation

A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPLY FOR A “SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL SIDEWALK
GRANT.”
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Sevier.
Motion passed unanimously.
There will be a public hearing on January 12th at 3:30 pm in the Council Meeting Room at 25 Public
Square.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ENTER INTO A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH
THE STATE OF TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SIGNING AND
SIGNALIZATION ON SR-6 INTERSECTION AT EAST GAINES STREET
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier.
Motion passed unanimously.
With no further business to come before the Council a motion was made by Council Member Moore,
with a second by Council Member Williams.
