COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG November 25, 2015 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member Williams and Council Member Moore. Council Member Sevier was absent. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the November 12, 2015 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Durham invited the City Council to the Ground Breaking for the City Pool in Loretto on December 1st at 3:00 p.m. City Administrator informed the Council that we would have bid openings on December 7 & 8 for Cal Ripken lighting as well as front end load containers and hauler. The Disk Golf Course is coming along very nicely with Josh Braswell taking the lead on that project. IMI Materials, Mid-South Concrete, and Parkes Lumber Company have donated materials to help make this project happen. The Annual Christmas Parade will be December 5. Grand Marshall will be Dixie Youth Sweetie 5 to 6 Year Old World Series Champions, from Summertown. The annual employee Christmas Breakfast will be December 1st from 8 AM until 10 AM. Beth Campbell, Parks and Recreation Director invited everyone to the 26th Annual Spirit of Santa event on December 3rd and 4th at the City Auditorium. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION WHEREAS THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE HAS DETERMINED THAT IN THE INTEREST OF ATTRACTING AND RETAINING QUALIFIED EMPLOYEES, IT WISHES TO OFFER A 401(a) OR 401(k) DEFINED CONTRIBUTION PLAN, FUNDED BY EMPLOYEE DEFERRALS AND, IF ELECTED PURSUANT TO SECTION N,O,OR HH OF THE PARTICIPATING EMPLOYER AGREEMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION WHEREAS THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE HAS DETERMINED THAT IN THE INTEREST OF ATTRACTING AND RETAINING QUALIFIED EMPLOYEES, IT WISHES TO OFFER A GOVERNMENTAL 457(b) DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN, FUNDED BY EMPLOYEE DEFERRALS AND, IF ELECTED PURSUANT TO SECTION I AND/OR K OF THE PARTICIPATING EMPLOYER AGREEMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO REAPPOINT DANA CARVELL TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. Attorney Betz asked the Council to consider a member of the Beer Board to replace Anne Brown. Ronald Fox nominated Butch Newell, the brother of Anne, based upon his acceptance to serve on the board. A second was received by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board the meeting adjourned. Meeting adjourned.
