COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG December 10, 2015 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member Williams, Council Member Moore and Council Member Sevier. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the November 25, 2015 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Durham presented Jeff Kerstiens a retirement award from the City of Lawrenceburg, for 30 years of service to the Lawrenceburg Fire Department. Mayor Durham also introduced Jeffery Hughes who spoke concerning an incident on November 13 when his teen age child went missing. He had called E-911 concerning this situation after he and friends and family could not find the child. He indicated there should be better communication between the different law enforcement departments so they could help each other when manpower is stretched. City Council Members thanked him for his remarks and will work to develop better communication between the departments. City Administrator informed the Council that Spirit of Santa is still taking donations and that bids for Cal Ripken and the Sanitation Department have been opened. Mr. Shaffer also introduced Kendall Sherrell as the new firefighter replacing Jeff Kerstiens in the Fire Department. ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NUMBER 1167 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 1033 ESTABLISHING THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT AND USE OF REVENUE FOR SAID DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE First Reading Motion to pass on first reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) 2015-10-12A A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR AN ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG) TO PURCHASE FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR JMCM CONSULTING TO APPLY FOR AND ADMINISTER SAID GRANT (Tanker Truck) Motion to pass was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR AN ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG) TO PURCHASE FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR JMCM CONSULTING TO APPLY FOR AND ADMINISTER SAID GRANT(Breathing Compressor and Cascade System) Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH WALTER D. HOLMAN FOR IT SUPPORT/MAINTENANCE Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ACCEPT THE BID AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH REYNOLDS ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS, LLC FOR LIGHTING/FIELD EXTENSION FOR CAL RIPKEN FIELDS Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board the meeting adjourned. Meeting adjourned.
