COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG January 14, 2016 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member Williams, Council Member Sevier, and Council Member Moore. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the December 23, 2015 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Durham presented Melonie Barnett a Retirement Award from the City of Lawrenceburg for her years of service to the Lawrenceburg Police Department. Fire Chief Jay Moore had a badge pinning ceremony for two of his firemen receiving promotions; Jeremy Johnson and Lee Beckman. Ryan Mattox explained a smoke detector challenge with the E.O. Coffman Baseball Team to install 100 free smoke alarms in one day (January 23, 2016). Clint Oftedahl in conjunction with the Lawrence County Archives are promoting a Lawrence County Pictorial History Book – Bicentennial Edition. Ethan Hadley informed the Council that the Chamber is working on a promotion packet for the purpose of recruiting business and industry to Lawrenceburg and Lawrence County. City Administrator informed the Council of the new employees; Tonya Thompson; Raymond Chavez; Jake Beckman; Tim Daniels and Walt Holman. ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NO. 1168 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO 1127 AND ORDINANCE NO. 1090 ENTITLED THE “PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS” OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, AND TO AMEND SECTION V, - BENEFITS; U. RETIREMENT PLAN HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE AT RETIREMENT OF THE LAWRENCEBURG MUNICIPAL CODE. Second and final reading. Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1169 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1161 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2015-2016 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE. Second and final reading. Motion to pass on second reading was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1170 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 1090 ENTITLED THE “PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS” OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, AND TO AMEND SECTION III – HIRING AND RETENTION; E. JOB ADVANCEMENT OF THE LAWRENCEBURG MUNICIPAL CODE. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ATTACHED LIST OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS BY THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG DURING THE 2015-2016 FISCAL YEAR Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Williams. Meeting adjourned.
