COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG April 14, 2016 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member, Council Member Moore, Council and Council Member Sevier. Council Member Williams was absent. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the March 24, 2016 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor and Council recognized employees with 25 years or more service with the City of Lawrenceburg. These employees included Don Laws, Ronnie Springer, Marlon Huntley, Elizabeth Campbell, Austin Estes, Jerry Smith, Darla Grinnell, Danny Caperton, Patrick Quillen, Daren Goolsby, Joseph Baxter. City Administrator, Chris Shaffer informed the Council of two new employees in the Department of Public Works; Jeff Purcell and Kenneth Goodwin. LUS Financials for February, 2016 were accepted. ORDINANCE NO. 1172 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 789, ENTITLED THE “ZONING ORDINANCE” OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, THE LAWRENCEBURG MUNICIPAL CODE, TITLE 14, CHAPTER 2, 14-201 LAND USE TO BE GOVERNED BY ZONING ORDINANCE PUBLISHED AS APPENDIX 1, VOLUME II OF THE LAWRENCEBURG MUNICIPAL CODE; ARTICLE VII, ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT SECTION 7.070 (C) FEES [ORDINANCE 778]; ARTICLE VII, SECTION 7.030 (C) FEES [ORDINANCE 913]; ARTICLE VII SECTION 7.070 VARIANCE, (C) FEES [ORDINANCE 1103]; AND TO ESTABLISH A SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR PLANNING, ZONING AND PERMITTING – First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. This amendment to the Zoning Ordinance will require a Public Hearing, which will be held at the May 12 Council Meeting. RESOLUTION(S) 2016-14-4A A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A 1990 CAT D6H DOZIER FROM THE LAWRENCE COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AUTHORIZE THE EXPENDITURE OF OVER EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS PER THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG PURCHASING POLICY FOR PURCHASE OF PUMP STATION FOR BOBBY BREWER PARK Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. After discussion a motion was made by Council Member Fox to table due to a supposed discrepancy on the invoice. Motion received a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed – resolution tabled. 2016-14-4B A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR A 555 FITNESS GRANT FOR FITNESS EQUIPMENT FOR THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Fox. Meeting adjourned.
