COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG March 24, 2016 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member, Council Member Moore, Council Members Williams and Council Member Sevier. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the March 10, 2016 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor and Council recognized employees with 30 years or more service with the City of Lawrenceburg. These employees included Jimmy Bentley, Jay Moore, Linda Adair, Michael Boulie, Alan Betz, and Todd Barnes. Mayor and Council recognized LCHS Boys and Girls Basketball Teams for winning the District Championship for 2016. Mayor announced City Offices will be closed Friday in observance of Good Friday; and Friday’s trash carts will be picked up today. RESOLUTIONS(S) 2016-24-3A A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR A RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION (SAFER) GRANT THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR FIFTEEN VOLUNTEERS FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR YEARS AT NO COST TO CITY Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. 2016-24-3B A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AMEND RESOLUTION NUMBER 2015-28-5D TO AMEND THE GRANT REQUEST TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT FROM MID SOUTH EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT FOR THE LAWRENCEBURG, ETHRIDGE AND NEW PROSPECT FIRE DEPARTMENTS Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore Motion passed unanimously. 2016-24-3C A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS TO BE USED TOWARD NEW WEAPONS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Sevier. Meeting adjourned.
