COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG March 10, 2016 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member, Council Member Moore, Council Members Williams and Council Member Sevier. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the February 25, 2016 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor and Council recognized E.O. Coffman Boys and Girls Basketball Teams for winning the District Championship for 2016. Chris Shaffer introduced Ethan Hadley, Chamber of Commerce President, whom gave a update on all that is going on within the city and county as far as economic development, tourism, etc. LUS Financials were accepted for January, 2016 ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NO. 1171 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 963; 1029; 1039 AND ORDINANCE 1091 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO FIX THE TIME AND PLACE AT WHICH THE REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL SHALL BE HELD. Second and Final Reading Motion to approve on final reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTIONS(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO REQUEST BIDS FOR MOWING, WEED CUTTING AND FLOWER BED MAINTENANCE AT MIMOSA CEMETERY Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR A STAFFING FOR ADEQUATE FIRE AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE (SAFER) GRANT THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY TO HIRE THREE FULL TIME FRONTLINE FIREFIGHTERS FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO CONVEY PROPERTY TO SPEEDWAY LLC LOCATED ON NORTH LOCUST AVENUE, LAWRENCEBURG, TN, CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 2.14 ACRES, MAP 78CC, PARCEL 1.04 Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPLY FOR A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500.00 WITH THE TENNESSEE INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC HEALTH REGIONAL ROADMAP 2 PROGRAM FOR THE 2016 CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG HEALTH FAIR AND WELLNESS PROGRAM Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor announced that U.S. Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn would be at the West End Community Center this afternoon. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Fox. Meeting adjourned. Meeting adjourned.
