COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG June 23, 2016 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member, Council Member Moore, Council Member Sevier and Council Member Williams. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the June 9, 2016 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Durham announced the closing of city offices Monday, July 4 in celebration of Independence Day. City Administrator informed the Council about meetings to discuss safe access for children attending E.O. Coffman School and the changes that may take place before school starts. Met with the engineer on Fire Station One and bids should be going out soon on that project. Gary Hyde updated the Council on progress in delivering and setting up the new front load dumpsters to businesses in Lawrenceburg. Mayor Durham emphasized his concern about the intersection of US 64 and US 43 on the by-pass. Needs stop light or some further engineering, it is very dangerous. A Public Hearing was opened on Ordinance Number 1175, with no one wishing to address the Council the Public Hearing was closed. ORDINANCE NO. 1175 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 789 ENTITLED THE “ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE” Property belonging to Steve Saliba. Second and Final Reading Motion to approve on final reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1176 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1161 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2015-2016 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE Second and Final Reading Motion to approve on final reading was made by Council Member Sevier with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1177 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1161 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2015-2016 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AUTHORIZE A CONSULTANT SELECTION POLICY IN ACCORDANCE WITH FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION OR THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR PROJECTS THAT USE FEDERAL FUNDING Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO CREATE INTERNAL CONTROL GUIDELINES IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROCEEDURES AS REQUIRED BY THE COMPTROLLER’S OFFICE OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO REAPPOINT SHANE HUGHES TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TO REQUEST BIDS FOR A CULVERT FOR GRANDADDY ROAD Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. Alan Betz announced that Lawrenceburg Babe Ruth will host 13 and 14 year old State Tournaments, and Chad Moore announced that Cal Ripkin will host the 10 year old State Tournament. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Sevier. Meeting adjourned. Meeting adjourned.
