COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG December 22, 2016 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Council Member Williams, Mayor Durham, Council Member Moore and Council Member Sevier. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order by Mayor Durham. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the December 8, 2016 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Durham announced the closing of City Offices for the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays. Kathy Ryan received a retirement award for over 14 years of service to the Lawrenceburg Police Department. City Administrator informed the Council that Chris Bryant has passed his Commercial Plumbing Inspectors test, Tina Sowell received her SSH Certification having to do with ADA Compliance, etc. and Fire Chief Jay Moore and the Lawrenceburg Fire Department received an award from the State Fire Marshall on placing 100 smoke detectors in 100 days in homes this year. H. R. Director, Doug Edwards, thanked the City Council on behalf of the City Employees for their efforts in the employees receiving pay raises, longevity pay and keeping the insurance manageable for the employees. This was done at the request of several employees. Mr. Edwards continued to report on many areas the Human Resource Department deals with. All in all we seem to be improving in accident and injury prevention, which affects our insurance cost through the TML Pool. First Reading. Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1194 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 789 ENTITLED THE “ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE” Accessory Use Regulations sent with a positive recommendation from the Planning Commission. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1195 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 789 ENTITLED THE “ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE” Deleting playground requirement, sent with a positive recommendation from the Planning Commission. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1196 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 789 ENTITLED THE “ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE” Rezone request Clayton Wilson property sent with a positive recommendation from the Planning Commission. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1197 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 789 ENTITLED THE “ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE” Rezone request James & Melissa Brazier sent with a positive recommendation from the Planning Commission. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO REAPPOINT LETISHA GRAYSON TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD. Recommendation from Housing Authority Board Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ESTABLISH A LAWRENCEBURG ADA COMPLIANCE PLAN Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Sevier. Meeting adjourned.
