COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG May 11, 2017 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Council Member Sevier, and Mayor William K. Durham. Council Member Moore and Council Member Williams was absent. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the April 27, 2017 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Eddie Cullifer received a letter of commendation for his actions when an explosion happened in the back of the garbage truck he was driving. He moved the truck away from businesses and called 911. His actions saved the city thousands of dollars. City Administrator, Chris Shaffer updated the Council on the progress of converting our section of the building to accommodate LUS. According to Architect Jerry Reynolds construction should start by the end of this month. ORDINANCE NO.1200 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO FIX A BOBBY BREWER MEMORIAL PARK BALLFIELD RESERVATION AGREEMENT OF A NON-REFUNDABLE $25.00 TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS PER HOUR FOR LIGHTING WITH A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) HOURS RENTAL AND INCLUDE PROOF OF LIABILITY INSURANCE – Second and final reading Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed ORDINANCE NO. 1202 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ESTABLISH FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF FACILITIES THROUGH THE LAWRENCEBURG PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT. Second and final reading Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE, TO APPROVE A SALARY SUPPLEMENT FOR ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT IN THE ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ENTER INTO LEASE AGREEMENT WITH BUFFALO RIVER SERVICES FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT W. O. SMITH STREET, LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR THE SALE OF REAL ESTATE TO MIRLEY McFALL AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE DEED OR DEEDS TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION Motion passed based upon a corrected description of approximately 9 acres; to be done by Attorney Betz. Motion made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Fox with a second by Council Member Sevier. Meeting adjourned. Meeting adjourned.
