COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG May 25, 2017 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Council Member Sevier, Mayor William K. Durham, Council Member Moore and Council Member Williams. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the May 11, 2017 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor announced the closing of city offices on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day. Residential carts will be picked up Thursday. The annual Memorial Day Service will be at 6:00 PM at the auditorium, located at the Police Department. Fire Chief Jay Moore gave a report on recent fires and plans to dedicate the new fire truck in the near future. Mayor indicated a need for a work session in the near future on several items. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO ENTER INTO AN ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG) TO PURCHASE FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND PAY JMCM CONSULTING FEES FOR ADMINISTRATION OF SAID GRANT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF TENNESSEE FOR THE SWEEPING OF STATE STREETS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF LAWRENCEBURG AND OTHER STREET AND/OR RIGHT OF WAY MAINTENANCE AGREEMENTS. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS (AMKUS RESCUE TOOL) TO BE USED TOWARD A TRADE FOR AN EVEN TRADE FOR A NEW HALF SET OF AMKUS STRUTS AND ACCESSORIES Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Williams. Meeting adjourned.
