COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG January 11, 2018 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member Sevier, Council Member Williams and Council Member Moore. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the December 28, 2017 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Durham announced the closing of city offices on January 15 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. City Administrator, Chris Shaffer, informed the Council of the passing of Donald Rayfield; we are looking at a paperless purchase order; creating Government ID’s for employees. January 18 we are starting a Motorized Chair Safety Campaign at 1:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. LUS Financials for November, 2017 were accepted. A Public Hearing was held for Ordinance number 1220. With no one wishing to address the Council the Public Hearing closed. ORDINANCE NO. 1220 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 789 AND ORDINANCE 810 ENTITLED, “ZONING ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG”, TENNESSEE; CONCERNING CHANGES TO THE CREATION OF THE HISTORICAL ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE. Second and Final Reading Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AMEND RESOLUTION 2010-12-8C CONCERNING THE MEMBERS OF THE LAWRENCEBURG HISTORICAL ZONING COMMISSION Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPOINT KATHY NIEDERGESES TO THE LAWRENCEBURG HISTORICAL ZONING BOARD Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS TO BE SOLD AT AUCTION ON THE WEB Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ACCEPT THE BID FROM SAFE INDUSTRIES OF SMYRNA, TENNESSEE FOR TURN OUT GEAR Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR AN ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG) TO PURCHASE FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR JMCM CONSULTING TO APPLY FOR AND ADMINISTER SAID GRANT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Meeting adjourned.
