COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG January 25, 2018 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Mayor Keith Durham, Council Member Sevier, Council Member Williams and Council Member Moore. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the January 11, 2018 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. Chris Shaffer asked Judy Hartsfield to give a report on Ingram Sowell School and their needs for library improvements. A Public Hearing was held for Ordinance number 1222. With no one wishing to address the Council the Public Hearing closed. ORDINANCE NO. 1222 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 789 ENTITLED THE “ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE” Second and Final Reading Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ENTER INTO AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT WITH JUDY HARTSFIELD TO SERVE AS PART TIME HR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR LAWRENCE COUNTY TO REQUEST THE TENNESSEE STATE LEGISLATURE TO PROVIDE ALTERATIVE FUNDING FOR CENTRAL DISPATCH PERSONNEL Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR AN ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG) TO PURCHASE FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR JMCM CONSULTING TO APPLY FOR AND ADMINISTER SAID GRANT (270,000.00) Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR AN ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG) TO PURCHASE FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR JMCM CONSULTING TO APPLY FOR AND ADMINISTER SAID GRANT (36,000.00) Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPLY FOR A FEDERAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Meeting adjourned.
