COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG May 23, 2019 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Mayor Lay, Council Member Fox, Council Member Williams, Council Member Sevier and Council Member Moore. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the May 9, 2019 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Lay announced the closing of city offices on Memorial Day and invited everyone to attend the rededication of Veterans Park and the Veterans Monument on Veterans Day at Veterans Park 6:00 p.m. Fire Chief, Jay Moore updated the Council on the Drone Program and the Training Center. ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NO. 1270 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1241 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2018-2019 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT – Second and final reading. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1271 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1241 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2018-2019 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE SANITATION DEPARTMENT – First Reading Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously ORDINANCE NO. 1272 AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE – First Reading Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE, TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A 2019 CAT 320GC 48” BUCKET AND MANUAL THUMB EXCAVATOR THROUGH STATE CONTRACT NUMBER 0000000000000000000048439 FROM THOMPSON MACHINERY FOR USE BY THE LAWRENCEBURG SANITATION DEPARTMENT. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPLY FOR A TOURISM ENHANCEMENT GRANT FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF ROADWAY AND PAVING OF RV PARKING/CAMPING SPACES AT VETERANS PARK LOCATED ON SHOAL CIRCLE IN LAWRENCEBURG THROUGH THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed.
