COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG August 22, 2019 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Council Member Williams, Council Member Sevier and Mayor Lay. Council Member Moore was absent. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the July 25, 2019 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. Finance Director, Linda Adair, introduced the Finance Department’s new employee; Lisa Wells. Lisa will be replacing Jason Haislip. Lisa addressed the Council and she was welcomed by all. LUS Financials for June 2019 were accepted ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NO. 1275 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROVE THE 2019-2020 ANNUAL BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG- First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1276 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1241 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2018-2019 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS. – First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE, TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF SIXTEEN 2020 CHEVROLET TAHOE VEHICLES FROM WILSON COUNTY MOTORS FOR THE LAWRENCEBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE LAWRENCEBURG SANITATION DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS TO BE USED AS TRADE IN FOR NEW EQUIPMENT FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AS EQUIPMENT IS SHARED BY THE TWO DEPARTMENTS Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE, TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A NEW D6N NEXT GEN DOZER WASTE HANDLER IN THE AMOUNT OF $269,048.51 WITH THE TRADE OF A 1998 D6H IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,500.00 THROUGH STATE CONTRACT NUMBER 0000000000000000000048439 FROM THOMPSON MACHINERY FOR USE BY THE LAWRENCEBURG PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed.
