COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG
July 25, 2019
The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present:
Council Member Fox, Council Member Williams, Council Member Sevier and Council Member
Moore. Mayor Lay was absent.
With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion to approve the minutes of the July 11, 2019 Council Meeting was made by Council Member
Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
The Six Year Old and Ten Year Old Cal Ripken State Champions were recognized with an Outstanding
Athletic Achievement Award from the Mayor and Council.
Parks Director, Pam Kemp, gave a report on the Vaughan Festival and the floor of the Theater is sold
out for all concerts.
Fire Chief, Jay Moore, reported on the use of the small drone and the assistance give to Maury County
concerning the cliff accident.
RESOLUTION(S)
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TML RISK MANAGEMENT POOL
“SAFETY PARTNERS” LOSS CONTROL MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox.
Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE TENNESSEE
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR IMPROVEMENTS ON NORTH LOCUST
AVENUE FROM ELLINGSON STREET TO ROBINS STREET IN LAWRENCEBURG (RSAR)
ROUTE SR-6; PIN #:119683.00
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox.
Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT
TO THE CONTRACT IN LIEU OF PERFORMANCE BOND AS IT RELATES TO THE PROPER
OPERATION AND CLOSURE/POST CLOSURE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG
DEMOLITION LANDFILL, REGISTRATION NUMBER DML500000024 LATERAL EXPANSION
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox.
Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS TO USE AS EQUAL TRADE WITH THE LAWRENCE COUNTY
SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Moore.
Motion passed unanimously.
Police Chief, Terry Beecham, announced that citizens are receiving phone calls asking for donations
for body cameras. The Lawrenceburg Police Department is not doing that. Beware of scam.
With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member
Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed.
