COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG October 24, 2019 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Council Member Williams, Council Member Sevier, Council Member Moore and Mayor Lay. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the October 10, 2019 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. City offices will be closed November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. Mayor Lay expressed his sympathy to the Dunkin family in the passing of Teresa. She was the Register of Deeds for 24 years. We appreciate her service and that of her husband Marty. He also wished Baylee Fincher a Happy Birthday and asked her to report on the Friday activities around the square. She did inform the Council that the Spook around Town has been postponed due to the rain event expected Friday. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPOINT BAYLEE FINCHER TO COMPLETE THE TERM OF JERRY HUGHES ON THE LAWRENCEBURG HISTORICAL ZONING COMMISSION Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE A NEW BANK ACCOUNT WITH RAYMOND JAMES FOR 2019B BOND ACCOUNT WITH CURRENT SIGNATORIES ASSIGNED TO THE ACCOUNT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE A NEW BANK ACCOUNT WITH FIRST FARMERS AND MERCHANTS BANK FOR 2019B BOND ACCOUNT WITH CURRENT SIGNATORIES ASSIGNED TO THE ACCOUNT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE A NEW BANK ACCOUNT WITH BANK OF FRANKEWING WITH CURRENT SIGNATORIES ASSIGNED TO THE ACCOUNT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed with Mayor Lay abstaining. A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH LAWRENCE COUNTY, TENNESSEE FOR THE FORMATION OF A BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO BE IN CHARGE OF THE SOUTHERN TENNESSEE HIGHER EDUCATION CENTER LOCATED ON EAGLE FACTORY ROAD AND 2285 HIGHWAY 43 SOUTH, LEOMA, TN Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed.
