COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG July 13, 2023 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Williams, Council Member Sevier and Council Member Moore. With a quorum present Vice Mayor Williams called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the June 22, 2023 and minutes was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed. Motion to move the time for the July 27th meeting to 8:30 am was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. There were no request by the public to speak on any agenda item. Rene Segraves received a retirement award for over 10 years of service to the Police Department Animal Control Department. She was praised for a job well done. Parkes and Recreation Director, Pam Hyde introduced her new hires Eric Shultz as the new Assistant Director and Camden Boshers and Blain Cheatwood are new maintenance workers. Gary Hyde, Sanitation Department Director, introduced his new hires Glenn Andrews, Jr. and Gilbert Suarez, they are and will be front end loader operators. Chris Bryant with the Codes, Planning and Development Department presented an update on activities in his department concerning anticipated, current and past developments. LUS Financials for April 2023 were accepted. A PUBLIC HEARING ON ORDINANCE 1367 was opened and with no one wishing to address the Council, the hearing closed. ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NO 1367 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AMEND ORDINANCE #789 AND ORDINANCE 810 AND ORDINANCE 1220 ENTITLED “ZONING ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE”; AND TO AMEND THE LAWRENCEBURG MUNICIPAL CODE ARTICLE V. SECTION 5.092 REGARDING HISTORICAL ZONING REGULATIONS CONCERNING CHANGES IN THE HISTORICAL ZONING ORDINANCE AND COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG Second Reading Motion to approve on second reading was made by council Member Moore, with a second by council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1370 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ESTABLISH FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF FACILITIES AT LAWRENCEBURG ROTARY PARK THROUGH THE LAWRENCEBURG PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT – First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO APPLY FOR A DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board a motion was made by Council Member Moore to adjourn, second by Council Member Sevier.
