COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG July 27, 2023 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Williams, Council Member Sevier, Council Member Moore, Council Member Story and Mayor Lay. With a quorum present Mayor called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the July 13, 2023 and minutes was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Story. Motion passed. There were no request by the public to speak on any agenda item. Lawrenceburg Cal Ripken 6 year old and under and 8 year old and under Baseball State Champions received an Athletic Achievement Award, as well as Championship rings from Cal Ripken presented by Council Member Moore and Mayor Lay. City Administrator, Dick McKinley recognized the Sanitation Department and Public Works for the clean-up effort in Lawrenceburg by tearing down 8 houses and the old Farmers Market. Public Works Director, Jerry Smith informed the Council on his progress in getting to pave in the area of the church building recently purchased near Bobby Brewer Park. He will have gravel down soon and would like it to sit over the winter and pave in the Spring. He was also complimented on the rocks in areas grass would not grow. It looks good. ORDINANCE NO. 1370 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ESTABLISH FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF FACILITIES AT LAWRENCEBURG ROTARY PARK THROUGH THE LAWRENCEBURG PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT – Second Reading Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPOINT CLINT EVERS TO COMPLETE THE TERM OF RANDY SHOOK TO THE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS Motion to approve was made by Council Member Story, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE “PUBLIC PARTNERS” MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM FOR 2023-2024 Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Story. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board a motion was made by Council Member Moore to adjourn, second by Council Member Williams.
