COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG September 28, 2023 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Story, Council Member Williams, Mayor Lay, Council Member Moore and Council Member Sevier. With a quorum present Mayor called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the September 14, 2023 and minutes was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Story. Motion passed. There were no request by the public to speak on any agenda item. Police Department, the Donkey Basketball Winners, at the Rotary Fair were present with their trophy to show the Council they won. Police Chief, Terry Beecham, thanked the Fire Department for helping them with their drone. Gary Hyde, the Sanitation Director informed the Council that there has been 38 loads of strom brush taken to the landfill as well as having cleaned up all the alleys again, and we have torn down 19 structures, thanks to DPW and Police Department for their assistance. Mayor Lay advised all the employees, that the City of Lawrenceburg employees and departments working together is the exception not the norm; and how proud Lawrenceburg City Council is of all they accomplish together. ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE 1373 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1366 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2023-2024 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL FUND Second Reading Motion to pass on second and final reading was made Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1374 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1366 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2023-2024 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL FUND Second Reading Motion to pass on second and final reading was made Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Story. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1375 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 789 ENTITLED THE “ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE” First Reading Motion to pass on first reading was made Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1376 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 789 ENTITLED THE “ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE” First Reading Motion to pass on first reading was made Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPLY TO THE STATE OF TENNESSEE FOR ANY AND ALL SERVICES, SOFTWARE, EQUIPMENT, SERVICES AND TRAINING FOR CYBER SECURITY Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Story. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board a motion was made by Council Member Moore to adjourn, second by Council Member Sevier.
