COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG May 8, 2025 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Watson, Council Member Williams, Council Member Moore, Council Member Sevier, and Mayor Lay. The recorder malfunctioned and this meeting was not recorded. With a quorum present Mayor Lay called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the April 24, 2025 minutes was made by Council Member Williams with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed. There was no one signed in to speak concerning the agenda. Fire Department Chief, Jay Moore, gave a presentation concerning the call volume increase and the need for near future employee increase in the department. City Attorney Betz presented the business to the Council. ORDINANCE(S) 1433 AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE A TRACT OF LAND BEING THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF AN ALLEY LYING BETWEEN DEPOT STREET AND FIRST STREET AND RUNNING FROM THE EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF FAIN COURT EASTWARDLY TO THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF TENNESSEE SOUTHERN RAILROAD AND LYING IN THE EIGHT CIVIL DISTRICT OF LAWRENCE COUNTY IN THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TENNESSEE; RETENTION OF ANY UTILITY EASEMENTS; REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; EFFECTIVE DATE – First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ACCEPT THE QUOTE AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH ROOF SYSTEMS INC. TO REPLACE THE ROOF ON THE MUNICIPAL COMPLEX BUILDING LOCATED AT 25 PUBLIC SQUARE Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. With no other business to come before the Board a motion was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Sevier.
