COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG May 22, 2025 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Watson, Council Member Williams, Council Member Moore, Council Member Sevier, and Mayor Lay. With a quorum present Mayor Lay called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the May 8, 2025 minutes was made by Council Member Williams with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed. There was no one signed in to speak concerning the agenda. City Offices will be closed Monday, May 26, in honor of Memorial Day. Memorial Day Services will be held at Rotary Park gym due to weather expected to be rain. Also, residential cart pick up will be on Thursday, May 29. Jerry Smith, Public Works Director updated the Council on paving projects in Lawrenceburg. City Attorney Betz presented the business to the Council. PUBLIC HEARING ON ORDINANCE 1431 Public Hearing was opened with no one wishing to address the ordinance, Public Hearing closed. PUBLIC HEARING ON ORDINANCE 1432 Public Hearing was opened with on one wishing to address the ordinance, Public Hearing closed. ORDINANCE(S) 1431 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NUMBER 789 ENTITLED THE “ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE” BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE – Second Reading Motion to approve on Second Reading was made by Council Member Sevier with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed with Council Member Watson voting no. 1432 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE ADOPTING THE ANNUAL BUDGET AND TAX RATE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY1, 2025 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2026 – Second Reading Motion to approve on Second Reading was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. 1433 AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE A TRACT OF LAND BEING THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF AN ALLEY LYING BETWEEN DEPOT STREET AND FIRST STREET AND RUNNING FROM THE EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF FAIN COURT EASTWARDLY TO THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF TENNESSEE SOUTHERN RAILROAD AND LYING IN THE EIGHT CIVIL DISTRICT OF LAWRENCE COUNTY IN THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TENNESSEE; RETENTION OF ANY UTILITY EASEMENTS; REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; EFFECTIVE DATE – Second Reading Motion to approve on Second Reading was made by Council Member Watson with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ACCEPT THE BID AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH DEMAND MECHANICAL, LLC FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE CROCKETT THEATER HVAC SYSTEM Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Watson, with a second by Council Member Moore.
