COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG JUNE 12, 2025 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Watson, Council Member Williams, Council Member Moore, Council Member Sevier, and Mayor Lay. With a quorum present Mayor Lay called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the May 22, 2025 minutes was made by Council Member Williams with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed. John Werne asked to speak to the Council concerning traffic on Springer Road. He is new to Lawrenceburg and expressed his feelings that the city is losing tax money by allowing traffic to bypass the main highway, using Springer Road. City Offices will be closed Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. Residential carts will be picked up on Friday, June 20. LUS Financials – April, 2025 Sanitation Director, Gary Hyde spoke to the Council concerning complaints by citizens about picking up brush. We have three trucks running every day, and with the recent storm damage, and spring clean-up, it is difficult to keep the brush off the streets and citizens property He also addressed the Demo Landfill and hopes to have the new area open next week. City Attorney Betz presented the business to the Council. ORDINANCE(S) 1434 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1404 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2024-2025 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL FUND – First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT TO SELL REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 219 SOUTH MILITARY AVENUE Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Watson. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPOINT ERIC LANNING TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE, TO AMEND RESOLUTION 2025-9-1C; RESOLUTION NO.2023-22-6A; RESOLUTION NO. 2020-28-5C; RESOLUTION NO. 2017-22-11B; RESOLUTION NO. 2017-10-5A; RESOLUTION NO. 2015-12-11E; RESOLUTION NO. 2012- 27-12; RESOLUTION NO. 2011-22-12A; BEING SALARY SUPPLEMENT RESOLUTIONS FOR CERTAIN CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG EMPLOYEES Motion to approve was made b Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Watson. Motion passed unanimously Fire Chief Moore stated that there would be bike riders coming through here on Saturday June 21st. There will be approximately 40 Bikers taking part in the Tennessee Brotherhood Ride. There will be some firemen and others, they will pay respects to Jason Dickey at his memorial. Should be here for an hour or so before they continue on their some 500 mile journey. Parks and Recreation Director, Pam Hyde, stated that the Richardson Park is completed and there are lots of children playing on it already. And, Barry Hogues Park has just been completed. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier.
