COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG August 28, 2025 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Mayor Lay, and Council Member Sevier, Council Members Williams and Council Member Moore and Council Member Watson. With a quorum present Mayor Lay called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the August 21, 2025 minutes was made by Council Member Williams with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed. No one signed to address comments on the agenda. Mayor Lay presented Jason Frakes with a retirement award for over 27 years of service on the 12th day of August 2025. City Administrator informed the council and press that we would be closed on Monday for Labor Day. Ali and Chris are here from the Planning and Development Department are here to give you an update on projects in the City of Lawrenceburg. In the absence of Attorney Betz, Dick McKinley presented the business to the City Council. 1441 - AN ORDINANCE FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AMEND MUNICIPAL CODE TITLE 9, “BUSINESS, PEDDLERS, SOLICITORS, ETC”; CHAPTER 1 TAXICABS; SECTION 9-101 DEFINITIONS – Second Reading Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. 1442 - AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1432 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2025-2026 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL FUND – Second Reading Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. 1443 - AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1404 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2024-2025 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL FUND Second Reading Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE AND LAWRENCE COUNTY TENNESSEE TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT TO SELL REAL PROPERTY LOAATED AT 2279 HIGHWAY 43 SOUTH AND EAGLE FACTORY ROAD Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier.
