COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG September 11, 2025 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Mayor Lay, and Council Member Sevier, Council Members Williams and Council Member Watson. Council Member Moore was absent. With a quorum present Mayor Lay called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the August 28, 2025 minutes was made by Council Member Williams with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed. Kimberly Green addressed the Council to speak on Mobile vending. Her concern was child sex abusers selling ice cream to children, and felt that there should be background checks. The Council thanked her for her comments and the comment would be looked into. David Russ was presented a Retirement Plaque for over 31 years in the Lawrenceburg Police Department. LUS Financials for July, 2025 were accepted. In the absence of City Attorney Betz, City Administrator Dick McKinley, presented the business to the Council. ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NO. 1444 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AMEND LAWRENCEBURG MUNICIPAL CODE TITLE 9, “BUSINESS, PEDDLERS, SOLICITORS, ETC.”; TO ADD CHAPTER 5; MOBILE VENDING LIMITED USE STANDARDS First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Watson with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY AND ACCEPT A GRANT THROUGH THE TENNESSEE HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE FOR HIGH VISIBILITY ENFORCEMENT OF TENNESSEE DUI LAWS FOR PHYSICAL YEAR 2025-26 IN THE AMOUNT OF TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS; FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EQUIPMENT PURCHASE IN THE AMOUNT OF SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS; AND FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS IN RELATED OVERTIME EXPENSES Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Williams.
