2. Artifacts Update
Committee Member Moore said there has been no changes to the Artifacts Report since the

new items.
3. Comments by Mayor David Still
This was removed from the agenda earlier in the meeting.
4. Project Status Update – Mr. Mark LeBlanc, Program Manager
Mr. Mark LeBlanc updated the Committee regarding the construction.
Site development permit has been approved.
Building permit has been approved.
Site work has begun. They are currently working on grading and underground utilities.
Roof trusses and the demo of the inside of the building has begun.
We are off to a good start. Contractors are excited about this project. Sub-contractors are on
board.
Weather always affects the outside work - we are on track as of today on the timeline.
Commissioner Watkins suggested that the Hooper-Renwick Themed Library be a micro
transit stop. He suggested having a collage of various artifacts, photos, etc. be incorporated
into the cover for the transit stop.
5. Project Status Update – Ms. Cammie Mansfield
Mrs. Cammie Mansfield updated the Committee on the historical data for the Hooper-
Renwick Themed Library.
They have 40 oral histories thus far with over 1,000 minutes of recordings. They more than
doubled the number of oral histories that New South recorded. They still have a long list of
contacts for more oral histories and they are always happy to add to the list.
154 artifacts have been processed.
The exhibits have been reviewed.
Healy Kohler is working on construction documents. This will go to the fabricator which will
give us one last chance to look over the panels for part of the proofing process. The items will
not be ready for review for many months.
Temporary exhibits - there will be two large cases on the lower level which are currently
empty - these may highlight new acquisitions. We could rotate these exhibits every 6 months
or once a year.
Paper items will be rotated to protect them from light.
