A shared drive was created to house the information they have been compiling during their research. The subcommittee will meet over the next month and review this information and will discuss it in the August meeting. Council members will all get access to the shared drive so they can review the information as well. Aura-Leigh Sanders asked the Council to approve the addition of Stewart Woodard to the subcommittee. Motion to add Stewart Woodard to the subcommittee was made by Board Member Reedy, Seconded by Board Member Rodriguez. Voting Yea: Board Member Stone-Collins, Board Member Davis, Board Member Earhart, Board Member Johnson, Board Member Reedy, Board Member Rodriguez, Board Member Sanders, Board Member Walden, Board Member Woodard Anthony asked if there was one large similarity from all the research, so far, that stuck out. A lot of grant writing, involving businesses and community, seemed to be what a lot of communities are using. It was suggested that the Suwanee Ordinance should be used as a road map right now, and that how the projects would be funded would be the Art Council's work. A flip chart will be used to add ideas on what the council can work on for art projects. Mike has been doing a lot of research in bylaws, and found that the mission statement, etc. are all about the same thing. Purpose, membership, organization, etc. are all pretty much there, all very similar. Suwanee's Ordinance is important because they have been successful, and additions should be pulled from communities in the same state since they would be in line with local laws. The document should not be so difficult that it would be harder to work with and developers may go elsewhere if it is too hard to work with. City Council will ultimately have to approve the Ordinance. The August meeting will have a draft of an Ordinance. The hopes are to have an Ordinance approved by the end of the year. The first Monday in December is the last City Council meeting, and the Ordinance would need to be presented at the October work session, hoping to continue to discuss through the November session. Anthony and Aura-Leigh should be contacting Council members to give them an update on the who and what they are recommending and member names for Art Council should be in place by September. Public Comment There was no public comment. Final Adjournment Motion for final adjournment was made by Board Member Sanders, Seconded by Board Member Earhart.
