Meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m.

New Shelter
The ribbon cutting is scheduled for April 11, 2020 10 a.m. The 2nd Annual “Petfest” will be held at the
Civic Center following the ribbon cutting.
Staffing
The shelter is fully staffed.
Jackson Galaxy Training
FLCAS has been selected to participate in the Jackson Galaxy Pawsitive training program for shelter cats.
Volunteers have been selected and will be working with the first set of cats after the move to the new
shelter.
Cremation Services
A discussion was held about the procedure the shelter uses to handle deceased animals. Kim would like
to contract a company to provide cremation services for the deceased animal remains. The estimated
cost is $1,000.00 per year. Kim requested committee approval to include the costs in the Fiscal Year
2021 budget. A vote was taken and was passed unanimously.
Shelter Statistics
The live release rate for the 4th quarter was 92.5%. The total 2019 rate is 93%; 99% for dogs and 88% for
cats.
Currently, there are 111 animals in the shelter and 132 animals in foster care.
Volunteer Report
For the 4th quarter of 2019, volunteers logged 4,349.97 hours.
The next meeting is scheduled for June 23, 2020. Meeting adjourned at 6:31 p.m.
