Meeting was called to order at 6:20 p.m.

Manager’s report
• October 2022 statistics were reviewed –
Beginning Animal Count – 255 (canine-79; Feline-73; other-1; foster-102)
Intakes – 214 (canine-100; feline-112; other-2)
Average Daily Capacity – 152
Outcomes – 199 (total live outcomes 192)
Ending Animal Count – 270 (canine-83; feline-81; other-1; foster-105)
Discussion was held regarding logging and recording volunteer hours and transitioning into the new
software that will enable a better tracking system.
The pros of managed intake was discussed.
AMPA/Maddie’s Fund Shelter Assessment
Mara Hartsell was unable to attend - item was tabled for another meeting.
Ordinance amendments, Chapter 18, entitled “Animals”
Recommendation was made to change the name of the committee to Animal Advisory Committee
instead of Animal Shelter Advisory Committee.
A handout of the current ordinance with the recommended amendments was provided to the
committee. Each recommendation red-lined in the document was discussed in addition to the following
changes recommended by the committee:
• Add a Trap, Neuter, Release ordinance to Sec. 18-8. Paige Bailey will work with Jasmine to
complete.
• Lower stray hold from 120 hours to 72 hours (Sec. 18-10).
• Add verbiage to Sec. 18-10(a) that may allow retrieval fee to be waived if the animal is claimed
within 24 hours.
• Add “Class C Animal Cruelty” charge to city ordinances.
Dr. Robinson made the motion to approve all red-lined amendments and to include the additional
changes detailed above. Jasmine seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Shelter facility repairs were discussed.
No public comments were made.
Future meetings will be scheduled for the 2nd Monday of each month.
Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 12, 2022, at 6:15 p.m.
