Meeting Minutes City of League City Historic District Commission Regular Meeting, Thursday, April 21, 2022, 6:00 PM City Council Chambers, 200 West Walker Street, League City, Texas 77573 1. Call to Order and Roll Call of Members Mr. Hake, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: David Hake, Ric Pearson, Susan Pierce, Roland Bienvenu, Michael Hendershot (non-voting) Absent: J’Nean Henderson, Susan Smyer City Staff: David Hoover, Executive Director, Frankie Legaux, Assistant Director of Planning and Development; Mark Linenschmidt, Senior Planner; Masood Malik, Senior Planner; Michelle Villareal, Assistant City Attorney 2. Approval of Minutes approval of March 17, 2022, Regular Meeting Mr. Pearson made a motion to approve the minutes with correction of spelling of Mr. Bienvenu’s name. Ms. Pierce seconded the motion. The motion passed by a vote of 4-0-0. 3. Citizen Communication No citizens spoke. 4. Public Hearing and Action Items A. Hold a public hearing and take action on a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness (HC-22-0012), for construction of a patio in front of a commercial building and other improvements located at 601 E. Main Street. Frankie Legaux, Assistant Director of Planning and Development gave a presentation on behalf of the City of League City. Mr. Hake opened the public hearing at 6:14 p.m. Mr. Shannon Jones, Applicant and business owner, spoke about the request and answered questions from the Commission members. Mr. Hake closed the public hearing at 6:25 p.m. Mr. Pearson made a motion to recommend approval of the Certificate of Appropriateness (HC-22-0012) with the conditions recommended by staff and added two conditions that: 1) The structure must be painted; and, 2) The post caps be installed at the top of the posts. Mr. Bienvenu seconded the motion. The motion passed by a vote of 4-0-0. 5. Commissioner Comments No Commissioner Comments. 6. Staff Comments No staff Comments. 7.
