1. Call to Order and Roll Call of Members
David Hake, Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Present: David Hake, Susan Smyer, JNean Henderson, Susan Pierce, Roland
Bienvenu, Michael Hendershot (non-voting) Absent: Ric Pearson
City Staff: David Hoover, Executive Director, Frankie Legaux, Assistant Director of Planning and Development; Janice
Norman, Senior Planner; Paige Bailey, Assistant City Attorney
2. Approval of Minutes
A. December 2, 2021, Special Meeting and July 15, 2021, Regular Meeting Susan Pierce
made a motion to approve the minutes. JNean Henderson seconded the motion.
The motion passed by a vote of 5-0-0.
3. Citizen Communication
No citizens spoke.
4. Public Hearing and Action Items
A. Hold a public hearing and take action on a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness (HC- 22-0011a),
to demolish the structure, located at the northeast intersection of Colorado Avenue and Coryell
Street, with the address 700 Coryell Street.
Janice Norman, Senior Planner, gave a presentation on behalf of the City of League City.
David Hake opened the public hearing at 6:13 p.m. David
Hake closed the public hearing at 6:14 p.m.
Susan Smyer made a motion to recommended approval of the Certificate of Appropriateness
(HC-22-0011a) with the conditions recommended by staff. Roland Bienvenu
seconded the motion. The motion passed by a vote of 5-0-0.
B. Hold a public hearing and take action on a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness (HC-22-0011b),
to construct a new single-family structure, located at the northeast intersection, Colorado
Avenue and Coryell Street, with the address 700 Coryell Street.
Janice Norman, Senior Planner, gave a presentation on behalf of the City of League City.
David Hake opened the public hearing at 6:13 p.m. David Hake
closed the public hearing at 6:14 p.m.
Susan Pierce made a motion to recommended approval of the Certificate of Appropriateness (HC-22-0011b)
with the conditions recommended by staff. Susan Smyer seconded the motion.
All construction shall conform to the placement and design presented with the following
modifications: a) Lattice skirting set inside the piers shall be added to the
design. b) Smooth finish hardi-lap siding shall be installed. c) The porch will be
a minimum of 6-feet in depth and a minimum of 50% of the front faade.
The motion passed by a vote of 5-0-0.
