Meeting Minutes City of League City Historic District Commission Regular Meeting, Thursday, July 20, 2023, 6:00 PM Council Chambers, 200 W. Walker Street, League City, TX 77573 1. Call to Order and Roll Call of Members David Hake, Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: David Hake, Susan Smyer, Roland Bienvenu, Ric Pearson Absent: J’Nean Henderson, Susan Pierce, Michael Hendershot (non-voting) City Staff: Kris Carpenter, Planning Director; Mark Linenschmidt, Planning Manager; Ann Williams, Planner I; Michelle Villareal, Deputy City Attorney 2. Approval of May 18, 2023 minutes Mr. Pearson made a motion to approve the minutes. Mr. Bienvenu seconded the motion. The motion passed by a vote of 4-0-0. 3. Citizen Communication No citizens spoke. 4. Public Hearing and Action Items A. Hold a public hearing and take action on a Certificate of Appropriateness, HC-23-0005, a request to approve work already completed on a roof replacement, continue work started, replacing a garage door and a gable roof addition to the front porch, replace the front door, and to remove and repair damaged siding, located on the southeast corner of 4th Street and Colorado Avenue, with the address 618 4th Street. Ann Williams, Planner I, gave a presentation on behalf of the City of League City. Mr. Hake opened the public hearing at 6:11 p.m. Mr. Hake closed the public hearing at 6:11 p.m. Mr. Hake made a motion to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness, HC-23-0005 with the conditions recommended by staff with the exception that the replacement front door reflect the existing front door. Mr. Pearson seconded the motion. The motion passed by a vote of 4-0-0. 5. Commissioner’s Comments None. 6. Staff Comments Ann Williams, Planner I, informed the Commissioner’s, that two Administrative Certificates of Appropriateness had been issued for St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1612 E walker and 807 3rd Street. 7.
