Meeting Minutes City of League City Historic District Commission Regular Meeting, Thursday, August 15, 2024, 6:00 PM Council Chambers, 200 W. Walker Street, League City, TX 77573 1. Call to Order and Roll Call of Members David Hake, Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: David Hake, Susan Smyer, Kelly Green, Susan Pierce, Michael Hendershot (non- voting) Absent: Ric Pearson City Staff: Mark Linenschmidt, Planning Manager; Masood Malik, Senior Planner; Ann Williams, Planner; Michelle Villareal, City Attorney 2. Approval of July 18, 2024, minutes Ms. Smyer made a motion to approve the minutes. Ms. Piers seconded the motion. The motion passed by a vote of 4-0-0. 3. Citizen Communication No citizens spoke. 4. Public Hearing and Action Items A. Hold a public hearing and take action on a Certificate of Appropriateness, HC-24-0015, a request to replace windows, add two windows, replace the front door, and construct a fence at an existing commercial building, generally located on the northeast corner of Park Avenue and 2nd Street with an address of 202 North Park Avenue. Ann Williams, Planner, gave a presentation on behalf of the City of League City. Mr. Hake began the discussion regarding the work on the building had been done without a building permit and had several questions about the installation of the windows. The applicant answered several questions about the installation of the windows. A lengthy discussion ensued. Mr. Hake opened the public hearing at 6:19 p.m. There was a brief continued discussion regarding window trim. Mr. Hake closed the public hearing at 6:21 p.m. Ms. Smyer made a motion that the Certificate of Appropriateness for HC-24-0015 be approved with the condition that the added windows facing 2nd Street be adjusted such that they more closely resemble the windows on the front elevation of the building. Ms. Green seconded the motion. The motion passed by a vote of 5-0-0. 5. Commissioner’s Comments None. 6. Staff Comments None. 7.
