1. Call to Order and Roll Call of Members
Mr. Hendershot called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Present: Michael Hendershot, Tamara Gann-Curry, Katie Benoit, Russell Miller, Robert
Kline, and Dave Person (Alternate #1)*
* Mr. Hendershot activated Mr. Person as an active voting member of the Board.
Absent: None
City Staff: Kris Carpenter, Planning Director; Mark Linenschmidt, Planning Manager;
Vince Hustead, Senior Planner; Michelle Villarreal, Interim City Attorney
2. Approval of September 7, 2023, minutes
Mr. Miller moved to approve the September 7, 2023 minutes.
Ms. Benoit seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously 5-0-0.
3. Citizen Communications
No citizens spoke.
4. Public Hearing and Action Items
A. Hold a public hearing and take action on a Zoning Board of Adjustments Application, VA-
23-0003, 2422 Fairway Pointe Dr., a variance request to allow an existing house to remain
within the 10-foot-wide streetside setback along Fairway Pointe Drive, legally described
as Lot 14, Block 1 of the Amending plat of South Shore Harbour, Section 15 Subdivision,
generally located along the north side of Fairway Point Dr., west of South Shore Boulevard
with the address of 2422 Fairway Pointe Drive.
Vince Hustead, Senior Planner, gave a presentation on behalf of the City of League City.
Theresa Harper, Property Owner, 2422 Fairway Pointe Drive, thanked the Board for
consideration of this item.
Mr. Hendershot opened the public hearing at 6:09 p.m.
Mr. Hendershot asked if there was anyone present that would like to speak. There were none.
Mr. Hendershot closed the public hearing at 6:09 p.m.
Mr. Hendershot asked for confirmation that should be variance be granted, it would be for
the house in its existing condition and not apply for future improvements within the setback /
utility easement.
Mr. Hustead confirmed that the request is for the existing house only.
Mr. Person made a motion to approve the variance request for VA-23-0003, for the house to
remain in its existing location.
Ms. Gann-Curry seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5-0-0.
5. Staff Comments
Mr. Mark Linenschmidt reminded the Board about the upcoming deadline for reappointment to
the Board.
6. Adjournment
Mr. Hendershot adjourned the meeting at 6:11 p.m.
