REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, JULY 27, 2015 Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. Attendance was taken by a roll call vote; all members were present. The Committee on Records reported that the records through June 29, 2015 were examined and found to be in order. The records were accepted. The following COMMUNICATIONS were received, referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE and given REGULAR COURSE. C-2 Relative to the appropriation of $51,668.00 to the Cemetery Salary & Wages Account; same to be transferred from the Cemetery Perpetual Care Income Account. C-3 Relative to the appropriation of $207,073.00 to the Debt Service-Principle Expense Account; same to be transferred from the Stabilization Fund. The following PETITION was received, referred to the LEGAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, given REGULAR COURSE and referred to the Police Department-Traffic Division. 2-16 Richard Marchand: Prohibit parking at the intersection of Hall Street and Academy Road; on Hall Street 15 feet on both sides at the entrance to Academy Road and on Academy Road 15 feet on both sides from Hall Street. Chapter 40A, Section 6. Councillor Cormier, Chairman of the Finance Committee, read the Financial Report for the City into the record. The Stabilization Account has a balance of $13,545,407.93. The following ORDINANCE was read once and ADOPTED as presented. Vt. 7 “yeas” and 2 “nays”, Councillors Freda and Lanciani opposed.  3 1st Reading Ordinance – Amend Chapter 22, Article I, Section 22-24 of the Revised Ordinances, entitled “Definitions” by inserting a definition for Yard Sales. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, JULY 27, 2015, continued In accordance with Section 3.6 of the Leominster City Charter a vote was taken to request that the Director of Inspections, the Planning Director and the Planning Board Chairman attend the public hearing on August 24, 2015 to discuss Petitions 57-16 and 1-16. Vt. 9/0 In accordance with Section 3.6 of the Leominster City Charter a vote was taken to request that Sgt. Kinney of the Traffic Bureau and Joseph Poirier, Wire Inspector, attend the next meeting to discuss the Ordinance regarding stop signs for Haskell Avenue, Vista Avenue and Pierce Street.
