PLANNING COMMISSION
MEETING
August 3, 2022
7:00 P.M.
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Alan Paystrup
at 7:00 P.M. A Quorum was present
Those in Attendance:
Planning Commission Chairman: Alan Paystrup
Commissioners: Barbara Anderson, Christine Carrigan
Planning Commission Secretary: Sue Kendall

2. Action Items:

July 6, 2022 Public Hearing Minutes
July 6, 2022 Planning Commission Meeting Minutes
A few corrections were made to the minutes. Christine then made a motion to
pass the minutes for both meetings. Barbara seconded the motion. All were in
agreement.
3. Reports:
TJ Carter - Porch Permit
Russell & Christie Mangelson - Fence Permit
Randy and Carol Bennett – Awnings
The council looked over the permits and drawings for each of the jobs. Alan
discussed how to get more residence in town to get permits before they start
their building projects. They thought maybe a write up in the town newsletter
to help inform residence when permits are required might be helpful. Alan
asked how Sue decides which of the building inspectors to call for
inspections. Sue explained that she often gets the inspector that responds first.
AJ is sometimes doesn’t respond promptly.
4. Discussion Items:
Sign Ordinance - Sue passed out copies of the sign ordinance in which she
highlighted sections that she thought might be applicable to the discussion.
(Sign Standards #16.38) The council decided that because of Section
16.38.060 E, they would not need to make any changes to the sign ordinance.
That the current ordinance satisfactorily covers digital signs. Ordinance
16.38.060 reads as follows: “Signs not specifically authorized are prohibited,
including but not limited to the following: …… E. Any sign with intermittent
or flashing illumination, animated, or moving signs (message centers may be
allowed
5. Adjourn:
Barbara made the motion to adjourn. Barbara seconded the motion. All were
in agreement.
